Mecum Bound With Land Speed Record BMW S1000RR

Meet the PerformanceWerx/Pandora’s European Motorsports Bonneville Land Speed Record Holding BMW S1000RR

This is the PerformanceWerx / Pandora’s European Motorsports BMW S1000RR. This specially modified “Naked” RR was created from a standard BMW S1000RR. The bike has been modified to the fullest extent of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Land Speed Racing Rules, and features a specially tuned engine which develops well over 200 horsepower at 13,400 rpm.

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013 this bike, with rider Jack Broomall, established a new AMA National Land Speed Record in the 1000cc Modified/Gas class (1000 M-AG) for “naked” one liter sportbikes. The required two runs through the legendary Bonneville “measured mile” yielded a new record average speed of 182.262 mph. Two days earlier the bike and rider had made an even faster single pass through the mile at 185.657 mph.

This Land Speed Record BMW S1000RR will be making its way across the stage at Mecum Auto Auction on July 27th to raise funds and awareness for children and families faced with pediatric cancer.

Long time friend of the Osborn’s and advocate, Jack Broomall, has been raising funds through 2Wheels4Kids for 4 years.  He has raised over $20,000 for the Austin Hatcher Foundation.
