Austin Hatcher Foundation Partnering With Cadillac, Porsche Corrals For Fundraising Auctions at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Race Weekend

  • Raceway’s Official Artist Bill Patterson to Produce Paintings for Two Auctions
  • Auctions During IMSA’s Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Sept. 20, 2017) – Fundraising auctions have been scheduled for Sunday by the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer as part of the sports car racing weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California.

The auctions are being facilitated by ongoing partnerships with several friends of the foundation, starting with the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), which sanctions the weekend’s Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix. The Austin Hatcher Foundation is an official “Proud Charity” of IMSA. The Cadillac Corral and Porsche Corral enthusiast areas, which have hosted past auctions for the foundation, will do so again. The foundation also again welcomes the involvement of noted motorsports artist Bill Patterson, the official artist of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Patterson will produce his signature “live” paintings at 12:10 p.m. (PT) on Sunday at the Porsche Corral and 12:30 at the Cadillac Corral. The headlining race of the weekend, the America’s Tire 250 – part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship – is set for 2:05 on Sunday.

This weekend’s auctions – at IMSA’s penultimate race of the 2017 season – continues a season-long slate of at-track events that have benefited the foundation. That slate will conclude on Oct. 4-7 during the 20th anniversary running of the Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia. The Austin Hatcher Foundation will be involved in a number of activities at IMSA’s traditional finale weekend.

Throughout 2017, the Austin Hatcher Foundation has commemorated its recently-completed first decade of operation. The foundation began in 2006; as part of the commemoration, the foundation is amid its “Five for Ten” major gift campaign. The “Five for Ten” campaign focuses on “Building a Foundation For The Future” which has supported the acquisition and furnishing of the EAC.
