Austin Hatcher Foundation To Host Fundraising Auctions At Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s IMSA Weekend

CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE (April 29, 2015) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer, an official “Proud Charity” of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), has scheduled two fundraising auctions on Sunday May 3rd at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif., during the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix Powered By Mazda weekend, the fourth event of the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season.

The Chattanooga-based Austin Hatcher Foundation, founded in 2006, is an organization committed to erasing the effects of pediatric cancer. The Foundation has a long-running link to high-end professional sports car racing in North America. Prior to serving as a Proud Charity of IMSA, the Foundation was the official charity of the American Le Mans Series.

On Sunday May 3rd at 10:45AM the Foundation will partner with Team Falken Tire for a “trackside auction” held at the Team Falken Tire transporter in the track paddock area. Following the start of the race a silent auction will begin in the “BMW Corral”. In the BMW corral, racing memorabilia will be auctioned. All auctions also will feature souvenir race car parts donated by IMSA teams along with large race-related canvas images and photography.

“Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is always a highlight of the season for the sports car competitors, sports car fans and the Austin Hatcher Foundation,” said Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “Fans who turn out in Monterey are devoted – and supportive. And of course, we can never say enough about the inherent support we receive from IMSA’s officials and teams.

“We’re looking at a weekend with the perfect combination for the Foundation’s efforts – taking a great cause to a great venue.”
