Austin Hatcher Foundation, Goodguys Bring ‘AutoCross For Kids’ Into Indy

Indianapolis, IN.(June 2, 2015) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer and the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association will co-host another of their new “AutoCross for Kids” fundraising programs on Friday and Sunday (June 5 and June 7) at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.

From 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday, professional drivers will be giving rides on a challenging AutoCross course, for a suggested minimum donation of $20 to the Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Foundation. Donations will be accepted at the Austin Hatcher Foundation tent adjacent to the AutoCross area.

The AutoCross event will be held in conjunction with the Goodguys 2nd Indy Nationals on Friday-Sunday.

Earlier this year, the Austin Hatcher Foundation and Goodguys, based in Pleasanton, California, announced their partnership aimed at raising funds and awareness for the Foundation mission to erase the effects of pediatric cancer on young cancer patients and their families.

The AutoCross rides follow a special Austin Hatcher Foundation visit on Thursday afternoon to Riley’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.  The visit will introduce young cancer patients to the Foundation’s Diversionary Therapy initiative designed to give patients and their families a respite from the day-to-day challenges of a battle against cancer, with a day of motorsports-themed fun.  A regular feature of the Foundation’s hospital visits are the building and racing of Pinewood Derby cars, an activity of construction and competition involving patients, siblings and their parents.
