2nd Annual ‘Treads Of Hope’ Fundraising Initiative Set For July; Austin Hatcher Foundation Partnering With Tire Pros Stores In Chattanooga Area

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (June 28, 2016) For the second annual ‘Treads of Hope” fundraising initiative that starts Friday, the numbers look promising:

We’re talking about five tire stores, four tires per car and $2 donations for every tire sold during the month of July.

When the numbers start adding up, the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer will be the beneficiary of this partnership with Chattanooga region Tire Pros stores. All money raised from the tire sales will go toward funding services for children with pediatric cancer and their families.

Throughout the month, five area stores – Barnes Tire in (Jasper, Tennessee), Johnson’s Tire and Wheel (Dalton, Georgia), Premier Tire & Auto Service (Ooltewah and Cleveland, Tennessee) and Quality Tire Pros (Chattanooga) – will donate two dollars from each tire sold to the foundation, the 10-year-old Chattanooga-based organization dedicated to eradicating the effects of pediatric cancer.

Central to that ambitious mission is the providing of various innovative services to young cancer patients and their families, while working to optimize the quality of life for all affected. The foundation’s specialized intervention begins with cancer diagnoses and continues throughout cancer survivorship.

Treads of Hope, first and foremost, is a community-oriented partnership, said Tire Pros Marketing Manager Tony Diliberto.

“The fact that the Austin Hatcher Foundation was founded here in Chattanooga and that it truly is [still] a Chattanooga-based non-profit organization – those were the main things that really spoke to the dealers. The work they are doing (at the Foundation) is so important and it’s something that’s really an under-served need.”

All of these regional Tire Pros stores are independently owned, meaning the Austin Hatcher Foundation is getting five separate commitments of support.

“And that support is gratifying, to say the least,” said Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “Last year’s first Treads of Hope effort was a huge success and we are confident this year will go just as well or better. As always, we are so proud of our relationships with our local business community.”
