Giving Childhood Cancer Survivors The Tools To Build A Better Future

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer has made it their mission not only to erase the effects of childhood cancer but also to optimize the quality of life for kids as they experience the impact of diagnosis and as they brave the trials of their ongoing treatment.

The Foundation’s Industrial Arts Therapy Program is a hands on, wrench turning program that uses tools to: inspire passion for learning and creativity, help patients recover physically, mentally and socially after treatment, as well as provide an opportunity to build a brighter future. The program also creates team building skills, improves cognitive function, motor skills, and provides children with exposure to STEM and automotive areas of interest for the future. Our staff is also there to walk alongside the child with cancer, their siblings, and parents struggling on their difficult journey.

The Foundation is working on its third vehicle build through the Industrial Arts Therapy Program. This build will be modified by children with cancer and their families into a 2019 Rugged Ridge Baja. Rugged Ridge®/OMIX-ADA®, Inc.,  a Truck Hero company, has provided the necessary parts to complete the modifications required to complete the transformation.  Rugged Ridge®/Omix-ADA®, Inc. is the world’s largest independent manufacturer and wholesaler of Jeep®, truck, and off-road parts, accessories, and floor liners.

Your contribution will make this therapy a reality and helps fulfill the Austin Hatcher Foundation's mission to erase the effects of pediatric cancer and optimize each child and their family members’ quality of life.
