The Austin Hatcher Foundation's newest Industrial Arts Therapy

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer has teamed up with the Kawasaki Family Foundation and is continuing a series of unique fundraising initiatives that will also increase awareness of the foundation and Ford Motor Company and other partners both regionally and nationally. This initiative starts with invaluable help from young cancer patients and their family members who benefit from the foundation’s free services who will participate in modifying this custom vehicle. This program is part of a larger effort, provided through the Foundation’s new Education Advancement Center, to enhance therapeutic interventions with fun and exciting real-world activities that transfers into functional skill sets and builds a strong interest and alliance with the automotive industry.

For 2021, the Kawasaki Family Foundation has stepped up and is purchasing a Factory Five Mk4 Cobra Roadster for the children and families (along with well-known builders across the country). The Mk4 will be built with children and families from February 2021 - August 2021 and auctioned in Spring 2022.

Once the vehicle is completely assembled and ready for sale, it will be taken to auction in Spring 2022 to raise much-needed funds that allow the foundation to continue offering services at no cost to families.
