CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (June 25, 2019) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is heading to upstate New York and the legendary Watkins Glen International road-racing circuit this week, showcasing the foundation’s status as an official “Proud Charity” of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).
Watkins Glen International will be the site of Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, one of the premier races on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Challenge schedule. “The Glen” is renowned as a mecca of North American sports car racing; it debuted in 1956, carrying on a local tradition that started with two previous circuits that both utilized existing roads in the community for races held from 1948-1955.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 30, 2019) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is teaming up with some old friends this week, with the end result certain to involve a number of new friends.
The foundation, as part of its status as an official “Proud Charity” of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), will have two fundraising auctions at the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio on Sunday – “race day” for the Acura Sports Car Challenge, part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule. Race fans will be able to bid on various racing memorabilia from 11-11:30 a.m. at the Team Penske and Meyer Shank Racing transporters in the circuit’s paddock area.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 10, 2019) – One of the world’s premier motorsports events will again provide a high-profile stage for the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer during the BUBBA burger Sports Car Grand Prix weekend, April 12-14 at the famed Long Beach, California street circuit.
The Bubba burger Sports Car Grand Prix, set for Saturday, April 13, is the third event of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. The IMSA competition is running in companion to the fourth race of the NTT IndyCar Series season, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 14. The Long Beach waterfront street circuit debuted in 1975 and from 1976-83 it hosted a Formula One event.

(March 11, 2019) – It’s one of the biggest weeks of the year for the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer, because it’s also one of the biggest weeks of the sports car racing season, culminated by Saturday’s 67th Annual Mobile 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring at famed Sebring International Raceway.
The synergy results from the 10th year of Austin Hatcher Foundation’s status as an official “Proud Charity” of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), North America’s premier sports car competition sanctioning body; Sebring is the second event on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule, following January’s highly successful Rolex 24 At DAYTONA.
During the recent Rolex 24 At DAYTONA sports-car racing weekend at Daytona International Speedway, the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer presented its third annual Humanitarian Award to Corvette Racing, in recognition of its efforts throughout 2018 in helping the foundation provide essential services to young cancer patients and their families.
Corvette Racing is long-established as one of sports car racing’s premier organizations, competing in the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). The Austin Hatcher Foundation is an official “IMSA Proud Charity.”
Accepting the award was Corvette Racing Program manager Doug Fehan, an ardent supporter of the Austin Hatcher Foundation. A number of times in recent years, the foundation has partnered with Corvette Racing for at-track fundraising auctions of racing-related memorabilia, photographs and paintings.
