What's going on at the Foundation

January 26, 2019

At the 2019 Rolex 24 at Daytona, legendary sports car racing organization Corvette Racing was presented with the foundation's third annual Humanitarian Award. Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, IMSA, and Road Atlanta were also announced as award winners.

January 24, 2019

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is finishing out the first month of the year strong with their second Industrial Arts Therapy automotive build project. During the build, the children tested their team building skills, cognitive function, and motor skills while sparking a passion for learning that helps patients recover physically, mentally and socially after treatment. The builds also give the children with cancer, their siblings, and parents a chance to bond and be creative while taking their mind off of this burdensome time. Foundation staff were also in attendance to oversee and advise the entire process and support the families and children. 

This car will be the third vehicle built by the Foundation, with pediatric cancer patients and their families providing the labor for the modifications. The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is heading into 2019 with another exciting Industrial Arts Therapy automotive build project. This innovative therapy program is a hands on, wrench turning program that uses tools to inspire passion for learning and creativity, help patients recover physically, mentally and socially after treatment, as well as provide an opportunity to build a brighter future. This car will be the third vehicle built by the Foundation, with pediatric cancer patients and their families providing the labor for the modifications. The build will be modified into a 2019 Rugged Ridge Baja.
