CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (June 22, 2020) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer has scheduled its 13th annual “Celebration of Life and Hope” for Saturday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. EST. Due to COVID-19, this event will be held virtually via livestream, allowing both local and national guests to support the foundation from the comfort of their own homes.

Textile Rubber and Chemical returns as the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. The one-hour live program will include a live auction, family and patient testimonials, and a tour of the new 33,000-square-foot Education Advancement Center.   • Blue Sky Couriers Donated One Penny Per Mile Driven to Foundation

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (June 19, 2020) – Blue Sky Couriers, a logistics company serving the Greater Chattanooga region, donated a penny for every mile driven during the first quarter of 2020 to the Austin Hatcher Foundation. This is part of the company’s ‘Couriers for Kids’ program, which donates each quarter to a different nonprofit focused on children’s health.

After driving more than 68,000 miles in the first quarter, Blue Sky Couriers was able to donate a total of $713.77 on June 8, 2020 to support the foundation’s mission to erase the effects of childhood cancer.

  • Mental health counseling and occupational therapy services will now be offered in Spanish via real-time translator

  • Services can be obtained via telehealth and are free to any family facing pediatric cancer

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (June 10, 2020) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer will be offering Spanish translation services to serve a wider range of multilingual patients and families.

The Foundation has recruited the help of Lyana Osborn to serve as the Spanish translator and aid in the foundation’s mission to erase the effects of childhood cancer.

Osborn is currently a part-time teacher at the Scenic Hills Christian Academy in San Antonio, TX., where she teaches Spanish and Arts to children in Pre-K through 12th grade. She served in the United States Army Reserves for 4 years, and she has helped coordinate mission trips to Latin American countries, where she served as a Spanish translator, for 8 years.
