MEET OUR STAFF
James M. Osborn, MSPH - Chairman of the Board
Dr. Osborn is the Co-Founder of the Austin Hatcher Foundation and serves as the Chairman of the Board and Medical Director as a volunteer since its inception in 2006. Osborn received his Medical Doctorate degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Osborn also served as a Major in the US Air Force and was the Director of Orthopedic Surgery for the 92nd Medical unit. Osborn was awarded a Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service in 1999. Osborn enjoys racing, motorcycles, his family, and the ranch his family has started. He's also been a medical educator with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Department of Orthopedics Surgery for nearly 20 years.
Amy Jo Osborn - President
Amy Jo is the Co-Founder and President of the Austin Hatcher Foundation. She is a graduate of Samford University where she received her Bachelor’s of Arts + Science. She was awarded the Humanitarian Award for Samford University in 2018 and the recipient of the Tennessee Governor’s Volunteer Star Award in 2019. Amy Jo enjoys spending as much time as possible with her 4 children and husband Jim, anything outdoors, and art!
Julia Becker - Development Manager
Julia is the foundation’s Development Manager and oversees fundraising, grants, special events, and marketing strategy. She is a 2014 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she graduated with a B.A. in English: Rhetoric & Professional Writing and Communication minor. In her spare time, she is a barre instructor and enjoys reading and hiking with her husband, Phillip and two dogs, Rosie and Bamford.
Haleigh Darnell - Executive Assistant
Haleigh is the foundation's Executive Assistant and provides administrative support and office management. She received her B.S. in Early Childhood: Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Haleigh loves spending time with her family & friends while watching her favorite sports team, the Vanderbilt Commodores!
Nick Trujillo - Communications Coordinator
Nick is the Communications Coordinator for the foundation and handles all things marketing and graphic design. He is a 2016 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he received his B.A. in Communication with a Creative Writing minor. Nick spends his free time as a photographer, watching superhero movies and playing with Winnie every chance he gets!
Payton Bowling - Front Desk Coordinator
Payton is the foundation's Front Desk Coordinator and Jill of all trades! She supports our administrative and clinical staff by aiding in daily office tasks and welcoming our families and guests. She has a B.S. in Interior Design from the University of Alabama. Payton's favorite things are antique shopping, photography and traveling with her husband, Jordan and their two dogs, Anna & Chief!
Alex Hickman - Accountant
Alex is our Accountant and manages fiscal reports and oversees the foundation's finances. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Alex's talents include playing 6 different instruments, collecting thimbles from around the world, and enjoys spending time with her two adoring cats, Bastet & Omara!
Tammy Gipson - Occupational Therapist
Tammy is our Occupational Therapist and uses her 29 years of experience to help our patients and families live life to the fullest through adaptations, muscle strengthening, sensory, and compensatory strategies interventions. She is licensed in Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia to provide OT services. Tammy G loves laughter and spending time with her family and friends while cheering on the Crimson Tide!
Catie Whiting - Licensed Mental Health Therapist
Catie is the Mental Health Therapist and Social Worker for the foundation where she focuses on mental health treatment and family support. She is a 2013 graduate of Southern Adventist University where she earned her Master's of Social Work. Catie loves spending time with her loved ones, adventuring outdoors, and all things glitter! #GIRLPOWER
Lauren Kelly - Family Services Coordinator
Lauren is the foundation's Family Service Coordinator where she is tasked with planning our enrichment events for families and coordinating care for new and existing patients. She holds a B.S. in Hospitality Management and Business from the University of Alabama. Lauren's hobbies include cooking, traveling, and spending time outdoors!
Jonathan Myren - Director of Industrial Arts
Jonathan is our Director of Industrial Arts and is tasked with introducing our families to basic "shop" skills including woodworking, auto repair and maintenance. He is a licensed Practitioner of Occupational Education and has over 30 years of experience with automotive maintenance and construction. Jonathan's hobbies include restoring classic cars, woodworking, traveling and music.
Walker Wright - Music Therapist (Children's of Alabama)
Walker is our Music Therapist and specializes in Therapeutic Drumming for the Foundation. He lives in Birmingham, Alabama where he works directly with oncology patients at Children's of Alabama, as well as, patients and their families throughout the Foundation's system. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences, Physical Education. Walker loves jogging, collecting vintage percussion instruments and spending time with his family at the lake.
Winnie Eloise Osborn - Staff Pupper
Winnie is the foundation's fun-loving and playful dogter of Jim and Amy Jo Osborn. She received her Certification in Napping with a minor in Kibbles. Winnie's favorite hobbies are playing with her favorite toys and being the goodest girl in the office.
