Play for a Purpose empowers sports and fitness teams to give back with a game designed by you, for your community. There are no minimum goals or deadlines. Any team with a passion for philanthropy can take part, regardless of location, division, sport, or affiliation. AHF provides the hosting site for your giveback game, and your team can fully customize it to fit your vision.

Every dollar you donate provides free, lifetime care for families facing childhood cancer. Thanks to you, we can offer mental, behavioral, and educational support so families can focus on the future, not bills. We don't charge families or insurance—all our services are 100% donor-funded.

How to Start a Fundraiser: FAQs

Have questions about your fundraiser? We're here to help.

How do I create my page?
Click "Start Your Fundraiser" above, choose how you'd like to give back, and personalize your page with a photo and your own story. It only takes a few minutes.
Where do the donations go?
Every dollar you raise goes directly to the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer, helping fund free, lifetime care for pediatric cancer patients and their families. No family ever receives a bill for care, and AHF doesn't bill insurance, either.
Do I have to hit a fundraising goal?
Nope! There's no minimum you have to raise. Set a goal that feels right for you, and know that every dollar you bring in helps families heal beyond cancer.
Does it cost anything to start a fundraiser?
Not a thing. Creating and hosting your page is completely free.
Can I fundraise with a team?
Absolutely! Start a team page and invite friends, family, coworkers, or classmates to join and fundraise together toward a shared goal.
How do I share my page?
We recommend texting your fundraising link to friends and family, posting it on social media, dropping it in group chats, or sending it in an email. Check out our fundraiser toolkit for ready-to-use graphics and captions to make sharing even easier. The more people who see it, the more impact you will make!
