About this Role

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer’s mission is to erase the effects of pediatric cancer and optimize each child’s quality of life through essential specialized intervention beginning at the time of diagnosis and continuing throughout survivorship. The Foundation provides services to children with cancer as well as their families through the Education Advancement Center. The foundation provides all services at no cost to the families. Services are funded solely by the generous donations of its supporters.

  • Hours: Foundation’s office hours: M-Thurs 8:30-5:30; remote on Friday; Intern Hours- Flexible based
    on internship requirements and the Foundation’s hours of operation
  • Duration: Monday, June 3rd, 2024 - Thursday, August 1st, 2024

  • Learn about the Foundation’s history, vision, mission, and impact
  • Promote the company’s vision and create awareness for the Foundation while learning and
    adhering to Foundation Brand Guidelines
  • Research current trends and suggest ideas for the Foundation’s fundraising efforts and
    community presence
  • Research grant opportunities and document the ones who have priorities which align with the
    Foundation- grant cycles, due dates, etc
  • Gain general working knowledge of the Foundation’s Donor Management System- NEON and
    provide support as needed for entry, and greater efficiency
  • Prepare materials and mailings for donor stewardship and fundraisers (newsletters, etc.) and
    provide support as needed
  • Propose new ideas to improve the data entry process and support implementation
  • Research other community fundraising events + supporters and add to Prospect Lists w/contact
    information
  • Utilize internship experience and observations to create a Development Analysis, offering
    suggestions and key findings from internship experience
  • Support fundraising events as needed and if available
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
  • College junior or senior pursuing a business or nonprofit management degree
