About this Role

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer’s mission is to erase the effects of pediatric cancer and optimize each child’s quality of life through essential specialized intervention beginning at the time of diagnoses and continuing throughout survivorship. The Foundation provides services to children with cancer as well as their families through the Education Advancement Center. The foundation provides all services at no cost to the families. Services are funded solely by the generous donations of its supporters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the company’s vision and create awareness for the Foundation while learning and adhering to Foundation Brand Guidelines 
  • Research current trends and suggest development within Foundation marketing, social media and community presence 
  • Produce entertaining and educational content for Foundation social media platforms 
  • Assist the Marketing Team with the development, tracking and planning of engaging content for consistent release 
  • Help plan, coordinate, execute and evaluate special events for the Foundation
  • ~Assist with event details and logistics 
  • ~Serve as liaison with vendors/clients on event-related matters
  • ~Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events
  • ~Assist with recruitment of sponsorships
  • Assist with recruitment and training of volunteers for events
  • Make contacts and create schedules for events
  • Prepare materials and mailings for fundraisers (newsletters, invitations, etc.) 
  • Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process
  • Attend in-person and virtual committee meetings for major special events 
  • Utilize internship experience and observations to create an AHF Marking and Events Analysis to present to operations team, offering suggestions and key learnings from internship
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • This is a paid internship. Hours are flexible based on availability.
  • Work from office and/or work from home available based on student's internship requirements and AHF hours of operation
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management or related field 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills throughout in-person meetings and online  
  • Ability to function and perform multiple tasks for various events + marketing strategy on a daily basis 
  • Valid driver's license to drive as needed to local businesses for meetings and event planning
