The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer, a Chattanooga-based nonprofit with a national presence, is seeking a talented and motivated photography intern. This role offers a unique opportunity to refine your skills while contributing to meaningful work that supports the organization’s events and services.
Ideal candidates are creative, adaptable, and passionate about storytelling through photography. Applicants should be confident in capturing dynamic images of diverse groups, ranging from children to adults, and skilled at editing photos efficiently to meet deadlines. A strong eye for detail, the ability to handle digital photography with finesse, and a high level of creativity are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality photographs at various events and services hosted by the organization.
- Work with diverse groups, including children and adults, to create engaging and impactful imagery.
- Edit and retouch photos efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Support the organization’s communications and storytelling efforts through compelling visuals.
- Manage digital photography equipment and ensure all images are properly organized and stored.
- Collaborate with team members to align photography with branding and communication goals.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail while producing creative, professional-quality work.
- Promote the company’s vision and create awareness for the foundation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a current college student.
- Must have access to their own photography equipment, it will not be provided.
- The internship is paid ($11/hour). Hours are dependent on events within the internship term, see an outline of known events for the semester below. Must be able to attend most, if not all events.
- PC will be provided access to Adobe Creative Suite, but a personal laptop is strongly recommended.
- Must have strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- Optional: Working Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Bridge
