Austin Hatcher Foundation At The Glen: Three Fundraising Auctions Set For Watkins Glen International
  •  Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen Continues Foundation Visibility at IMSA Race Weekends

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (June 28, 2018) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer’s long-running partnerships with International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) entities continues this weekend at one of the world’s most famous road-racing circuits, Watkins Glen International in upstate New York.

The setting is the likewise-famed Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, an endurance classic set for Sunday that showcases the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship. The event is the sixth race of the season for the WeatherTech Championship, North America’s premier sports car series.

The Austin Hatcher Foundation serves as an official “Proud Charity” of IMSA, a status that affords the foundation the chance to schedule fundraising auctions of racing-related items and memorabilia in partnership with race teams, manufacturers and car enthusiast organizations linked to the series.

In line with the high-profile atmosphere of the weekend, the foundation has some of the series’ premier marques involved in three auctions, all set for Saturday.

The Saturday schedule:

  • 2-2:30 p.m. – Corvette Corral auction for Corvette enthusiasts hosted by Doug Fehan, the program manager for the legendary Corvette Racing organization. A highlight will be the auctioning of a painting by acclaimed racing artist Roger Warrick.
  • 3-5 p.m. – Cadillac Hospitality Suite auction, with another Warrick work available.
  • 3-3:30 p.m. – Fan Auction at the RLL BMW team transporter.

“This weekend at Watkins Glen continues to align the foundation with first-rate partners, which is making 2018 one of our most successful seasons for at-track fundraising events,” said Austin Hatcher Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “Major thanks go out to the weekend’s partners. The Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen is one of the country’s biggest races and it’s invaluable to have a presence. Our efforts to raise money and raise awareness for our cause – to erase the effects of pediatric cancer – will get a nice boost at the Glen.”
