The Austin Hatcher Foundation at Rolex 24: Igniting the Momentum for the 2021 Season
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Jan. 27, 2021) – This weekend’s Rolex 24 At DAYTONA opens the season not only for Daytona International Speedway and the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) but also for the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.
The Austin Hatcher Foundation is continuing its longtime role as an official “Proud Charity” of IMSA, and there is no better setting to showcase that relationship than the Rolex 24, North America’s premier sports car event.
“We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with IMSA this year,” said Austin Hatcher Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “After such a year of uncertainty, it feels amazing to be kickstarting our new year with the Rolex 24 activities.”
On Saturday at 3 p.m. at the BMW Hospitality area, renowned motorsports artist Roger Warrick will begin a “live painting” of the BMW sports cars competing in the endurance race. The painting will be auctioned Saturday shortly after dinner is served at 5 p.m., with all proceeds benefiting the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.
The foundation will also be presenting Nick Tandy with the Austin Hatcher Foundation’s 2020 Humanitarian Award for the incredible service he provided to patients in 2020. Tandy corresponded virtually with the foundation’s patients and brought them joy during a time when they were not able to attend school or socialize with peers.
“I am honored and humbled to be this year’s recipient of the Austin Hatcher Foundation Humanitarian award,” said Nick Tandy. “It’s a pleasure for us as drivers to support the work of the Foundation and its mission to better the lives of children with cancer. Bringing joy to those children is one of the best things we can do, and I wholeheartedly support the Foundation’s continued efforts.”
