The Austin Hatcher Foundation Welcomes Three New Board Members

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 7, 2019) - The Austin Hatcher Foundation welcomes three new board members to their growing leadership team. The first member being added is Wanda Phipatanakul, MD, MS. She received a B.S. in pre-medicine from Union College and furthered her education at both Loma Linda University and Harvard School of Public Health to receive her MD and MS respectively. She has been on the faculty at Harvard Medical School for nearly 19 years. Phipatanakul is currently a senior physician and director of the Asthma Clinical Research Center at Boston Children’s Hospital and a Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. Her vast experience in the medical field and clinical research will make her an invaluable asset to board.

The second newest addition is Angie Burton, a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga graduate who is currently a producer and project manager at Tombras Group Advertising, based out of Knoxville. Prior to joining Tombras Group Advertising, Burton’s career included 14 years as a producer and production manager with The Johnson Group in Chattanooga.  Her extensive experience in marketing and advertising makes her a valuable addition to the board.

Chattanooga native Clay Watson is the third addition to the foundation’s board. Watson is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and currently serves as the president and dealer principal at Mtn. View Ford Lincoln. Watson brings his expertise in business administration and the automotive industry.

The Austin Hatcher Foundation would also like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the three outgoing board members Debbie Westbrook who served on the board from 2010 to 2018 and Nina Coppinger and David Tsurusaki who both served from 2015 to 2018. Their hard work and service is appreciated, and the foundation looks forward to continuing the accomplishments they completed during their time on the board.

“While it’s sad to say goodbye to three of our outstanding board members, we’re thrilled to have Wanda, Angie, and Clay joining our leadership team,” said foundation president Amy Jo Osborn. “As we continue to expand our organization and offer more no-cost services to children and families throughout the country, these new board members will play major roles in shaping our growth strategies.”
