Work Begins On Newest Austin Hatcher Foundation Therapy Project, A Mahindra ROXOR Off-Road Vehicle

  • Vehicle to be modified by pediatric cancer patients and families as part of STEM-based industrial arts therapy
  • February 29 build date is open to the media

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Feb. 24, 2020) – This Saturday, children and families served by the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer will begin the modification and upfitting process on the foundation’s latest therapy project, a Mahindra ROXOR off-road vehicle.

In December 2019, Mahindra North America donated a ROXOR off-road vehicle to be modified as part of the foundation’s innovative STEM-based industrial arts therapy program. Work begins Saturday, February 29 with pediatric cancer patients, their siblings, and family members completing the customizations. Once the patients and families complete the modifications and thematic styling, the ROXOR will be consigned to be auctioned to raise the much-needed funds that allow the foundation to continue offering all therapies and services at no cost to patients.

“This Mahindra ROXOR off-road vehicle is great for our patients to work on, especially those who are newer to our industrial arts therapy program,” said Austin Hatcher Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “It’s a very fun, approachable vehicle to learn about and modify, and we’re so grateful to our partners at Mahindra for making this fantastic opportunity possible for our families.”

This build date is open to the media as patients complete work on the Mahindra ROXOR Off-Road. Anyone interested in attending to take photos, videos, or interview patients must contact Julia Becker at julia@hatcherfoundation.org or (423) 243-3470.
