Meeting The Need: Austin Hatcher Foundation Adds Three Staff Members

Ashley Guthrie, Beth Baker, and Tyler Clemmons join the foundation’s growing clinical team as COVID-19 increases the need for services

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Dec. 14, 2020) – Three new individuals have joined the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer. Ashley Guthrie, FNP, as Clinical Liaison, Beth Baker as STEAM Curriculum Coordinator, and Tyler Clemmons as Licensed Clinical Social Worker are all additions to the foundation’s growing clinical team.

Ashley Guthrie is a family nurse practitioner and holds her M.S. Nursing from Belmont University. She has worked as a nurse and nurse practitioner in hospital, private care, and nonprofit settings. In her role as Clinical Liaison, she will be responsible for working alongside the clinical team at the foundation and pediatric health care providers to ensure all patients and their families utilize the support the foundation offers. Guthrie has been a longtime volunteer and board member, and she is the mother of a pediatric cancer survivor.

Beth Baker’s background is in education, and she received an Ed.S. in School Administration and Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. Her experience as a teacher in both traditional school systems and nonprofit outreach education brings standards-based, hands-on STEAM activities to the foundation’s programming.

Tyler Clemmons is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a M.S. in Social Work from The University of Alabama. He has provided mental health therapy to children and families in the Chattanooga area for the past four years. In his role with the foundation, he will continue to offer counseling, support, and case management through evidence-based treatments.

“This pandemic has created new concerns for our families as they navigate both childhood cancer and COVID-19,” said foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “We’re very fortunate to be able to add these three highly talented individuals to our clinical team. By adding these roles, we are expanding our services, capacity, and community relationships. It simply allows us to advance our mission to erase the effects of childhood cancer even further, and we’re glad we can meet this need for our patients.”
