The silent auction hosted by the foundation is an addition to the always busy Road America slate of activities. The foundation’s race week begins with a Thursday morning Diversionary Therapy visit to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Diversionary Therapy visits by foundation staff members offer interactive, specialized activities for young patients and their family members, supplying a much-needed respite from the everyday realities of a fight against pediatric cancer. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin has been ranked among the best in the nation in nine specialties included in the 2019-2020 Best Children’s Hospital Report compiled by U.S. News & World Report.

This week’s visit is one of many the Austin Hatcher Foundation is making this year to children’s medical facilities across the country, often in markets where IMSA events are held. (Note: Diversionary Therapy visits are not open to media; media members seeking more information on the foundation’s Diversionary Therapy program should contact Lauren Kelly at 423.243.3471 or lauren@hatcherfoundation.org.)

“What a special week this always is for the Austin Hatcher Foundation,” said the foundation’s president, Amy Jo Osborn. “We start our week in Wisconsin off by visiting one of the nation’s premier pediatric care facilities and then head over to one of the nation’s premier auto racing facilities.

“Three auctions amid the backdrop of competition at scenic Road America – this is the type of opportunity that defines our status as an IMSA Proud Charity. With thousands of passionate race fans in attendance, we are able to showcase our passion which is also our mission: erasing the effects of pediatric cancer. Partnering with Action Express, Performance Tech, the Porsche Corral and WeatherTech further makes it a premium week for everyone at the Austin Hatcher Foundation.”
