The Austin Hatcher Foundation to Benefit from 5K for Pediatric Cancer

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 20, 2022) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer was chosen to receive support from the 5K for Pediatric Cancer at Southern Adventist University.

This event will take place Friday, April 22, 2022 at 3 p.m. in front of the Duck Pond at Southern Adventist University. There will be a 5K run for the entire family with all proceeds benefiting the families of the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.

The Austin Hatcher Foundation’s mission is to erase the effects of childhood cancer and optimize each child and family member’s quality of life through specialized intervention beginning at the time of diagnosis and continuing throughout survivorship.

Families of the foundation receive services such as Mental and Behavioral Health Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Family Services, and much more at absolutely no cost to them, and the foundation does not bill insurance.

The foundation was chosen to benefit from the annual fundraiser by the class of Administration Health Therapy majors who are coordinating the event. The goal of this annual event is to raise money and awareness for local nonprofit organizations, and all proceeds are donated to that year’s beneficiary.

Registration for this event is free, and there will be a donation box provided for those that would like to support the foundation. Participants can register and get their bibs on race day.
