Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Adds Two New Staff Members

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Feb. 19, 2021) – Two new staff members have joined the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer team.

Julie Gersch, Ph. D., HSP, has joined the team as the foundation’s licensed psychologist.

Gersch graduated with her Ph. D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Akron, Ohio. For over 15 years, she has overseen clinical and business operations in both a large national healthcare company and a small state-wide boutique firm, leading a diverse array of behavioral health professionals. Gersch also ran a private practice in North Texas that specialized in the cognitive evaluation and treatment of children.

“I am thrilled to continue my personal mission of helping patients and their families achieve their highest practicable levels of physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning,” said Dr. Julie Gersch. “My move to the non-profit health care arena will allow me to remain passionate about promoting organizational development while offering creative, goal-driven, outcome based, integrated care.”

Dr. Julie Gersch will provide counseling (individual, trauma, grief, sibling, and family), cognitive and behavioral health therapy, sibling support (one-on-one counseling, enrichment, and more), and neurocognitive testing (measures cognitive abilities, attention, problem solving, memory, language, IQ, visual/spatial skills, academic skills, and social-emotional function).

Paige Holloway has joined the team as the foundation’s marketing and events coordinator.

Holloway is a 2020 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She graduated with a B.A. in Communications and a B.A. in English Literature. Holloway also served as the marketing and events intern for the foundation prior to being added as a full-time staff member. She is responsible for supporting the foundation’s mission and efforts through fundraising, event coordination, and brand marketing.

“When I first started my internship with the foundation, I knew it was something special,” said Paige Holloway. “I look forward to helping the foundation grow through events and marketing while also getting to do work that fuels my passion for helping others.”
