CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (September 30, 2024) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer and the Lee University women's soccer program will host their 15th annual “Kickin’ It For Kids With Cancer” fundraising initiative on Friday, Oct 4. The game will not only raise funds and awareness for families affected by pediatric cancer, but will also provide Foundation families with a special evening of community, diversionary therapy, Zaxby’s dinner, and soccer. Anyone in the community- both affected families and Foundation supporters- are invited to come together for a memorable evening. The event is free and tickets are not required.
The Lady Flames will face the Spring Hill College Badgers at the Ray Conn Sports Complex in Cleveland, Tennessee. The men’s game starts at 5 p.m. and the women’s game begins at 7:30 p.m. Austin Hatcher Foundation families will have the opportunity to walk out with the Lady Flames starting line-up.
Zaxby’s will be hosting a Spirit Night benefitting the Austin Hatcher Foundation on October 1st from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Treasury Drive and Stuart Road locations in Cleveland. A portion of the proceeds from anyone who mentions “Austin Hatcher” during checkout on Spirit Night will go toward supporting the Foundation’s mission to provide free mental, emotional, and psychosocial care for families affected by childhood cancer. Zaxby’s will also be providing dinner for registered Foundation families during the “Kickin’ It for Kids with Cancer” game.
Lee women’s soccer players have spent the past few weeks selling t-shirts and raising funds as part of their longstanding partnership with the Foundation. The profits from the t-shirt sales will go toward raising awareness and funds for the Austin Hatcher Foundation’s comprehensive services. A handful of extra t-shirts will be sold at the game on October 4.
“Kickin’ It for Kids with Cancer” is presented by Food City. Other sponsors include Rock Bridge Community Church, Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics of Chattanooga, and Business Water Solutions. Media sponsors include Mix 104.1 WCLE, CityScope Magazine, HealthScope Magazine, and Brewer Media Group.
