Golfers Raise Critical Funds for Families Affected by Childhood Cancer at Austin Hatcher Foundation’s Annual Golf Tournament
  • Annual fundraiser delivers vital support for childhood cancer families; set to relaunch as ‘The Hatcher Classic’ in 2026

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (September 10, 2025) – More than 100 golfers teed off at The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Georgia, on Monday, September 8, to support families battling childhood cancer. The Austin Hatcher Foundation’s fourth annual golf tournament was a sellout, with 28 foursomes raising essential funds to provide families with free mental and behavioral health services during and after pediatric cancer treatment.

The Textile Rubber & Chemical Co. Team
“This year’s tournament was an incredible success,” said Melanie Hammontree, the Foundation’s Director of Development. “Events like these ensure no family walks through childhood cancer alone. We are deeply grateful to our players and sponsors who help make that vision a reality. ”

The WesBanco Team, first-place winners

The WesBanco team took home the tournament’s 1st place awards and custom jackets from Yacoubian tailors, with an impressive finish of 21 under par. Team Coca-Cola UNITED secured second place, and GuideOn Group finished third. Players enjoyed lunch at The Farm, followed by a day of golf and an awards reception in the afternoon. Local businesses and community members contributed exclusive items and experiences to the event’s silent auction, helping maximize impact for families.

The tournament was made possible thanks to the generosity of community partners. Gold Sponsors included Textile Rubber & Chemical Co., Material Handling, Inc., and Debbie & Bryan Macon. Eagle Sponsors were Modus Build, GuideOn Group, Atomic Transport, Jackson Marketing, Lodge Cast Iron, Engineered Floors, A. Perry Homes, LYNC Logistics, Duvall Carriers + Imerys, Ascend Air Solutions, Coca-Cola UNITED, Mauldin & Jenkins CPAs & Advisors, and SmartBank. Bogey Sponsors included North Georgia Toyota, Elder’s Ace Hardware, Wistia, Love's Stop & Shop, and NABCO Electric Company. Support Sponsors were Synovus, LGPA, and Dalton Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, while Tee Sponsors included Edward Jones – Geo Mejia and SpeedHub Sim Racing.

The Foundation also thanks its media partners, Chattanooga Times Free Press, Chattanooga City Lifestyle, CityScope Magazine, and HealthScope Magazine.

The annual tournament continues to grow as a premier charitable event in the region—and beginning in 2026, it will be reintroduced as The Hatcher Classic, honoring the Foundation’s namesake, Hatch, whose life inspired its mission.

The Austin Hatcher Foundation’s next signature event is the Celebration of Life and Hope on September 20, 2025. This gala-style evening features family testimonies, live and silent auctions, music, cocktails, and more – all to benefit families facing the life-changing impact of pediatric cancer.
