IMSA Racers Ricky Taylor, Jordan Taylor Win Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Humanitar

•  Award Presented for Outstanding Volunteer Service Benefiting Foundation in 2017  

• Award Announced During Rolex 24 At Daytona Weekend  

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Jan. 27, 2018) – Ricky Taylor and Jordan Taylor, reigning co-champions of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series, have been named co-recipients of the second annual Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Humanitarian Award. The award results from the Taylor’s outstanding volunteer efforts for the foundation throughout 2017.

Joey Hand, driver with Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, was the winner of the inaugural award last year. In 2017, the Taylors made of a number of appearances at foundation events, including visiting children’s medical facilities in IMSA race markets. Their latest volunteer effort came last October when they visited the Austin Hatcher Foundation’s new Education Advancement Center (EAC) in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. During that visit the Taylors assisted young cancer patients in operating SimCraft driving simulators, which are being used in the foundation’s driving simulation program.

Prior to this year, the Taylors were longtime IMSA driving partners for their father, team owner Wayne Taylor. Ricky Taylor has switched to Roger Penske’s organization this season.

“Either in the race car or off-the-track, the Taylors are a wonderful combination,” said Austin Hatcher Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “They have been true friends to the foundation and have always been warmly accepted by the children and families at our events. They were a constant ‘upgrade’ for those events, giving of their time selflessly. The Taylors are definitely deserving of our second annual Humanitarian Award.”
