NGEMC Operation Round Up Program Grants $3,000 to the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (May 14, 2025) – The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $3,000 from North Georgia Electric Membership Corporation (NGEMC), made possible in part (or in whole) by the generous donations of participating NGEMC members in the Operation Round Up program.
For a third time, the Austin Hatcher Foundation was awarded funding through the program to advance its mission of delivering free, lifetime support to families facing pediatric cancer. The Foundation offers families a range of essential services throughout their cancer journey, including mental, behavioral, and social therapies, educational resources, and family-centered programs.

NGEMC's Operation Round Up program, made possible by the contributions of participating NGEMC members, aims to fund various charitable projects in the community. Through this program, NGEMC members can round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar each month, with the extra change going into the Operation Round Up Fund. These contributions support community development initiatives in Catoosa, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield counties.
“We are deeply grateful to North Georgia EMC and its members for their ongoing commitment to efforts that create real impact across our communities,” said Melanie Hammontree, Director of Development at the Foundation. “Through the Operation Round Up program, NGEMC continues to empower families by offering support during times of crisis and equipping them for a brighter future. Their unwavering dedication to uplifting others aligns perfectly with our mission at the Austin Hatcher Foundation, and we’re proud to partner with them in this meaningful work.”
