Enrichment Activity - Homemade Playdough
Making homemade playdough is a great way to get creative with the kids! This playdough recipe is simple, natural and perfect for entertaining the kids while stuck at home!
The best part is that you can make it with ingredients already in your home or at low cost!
In the video below, our friend, Anabelle, will show you step by step how to make your own playdough at home this weekend with your family!
Ingredients
- 3 cups of flour
- 1 cup of salt
- 6 teaspoons of cream of tartar
- 3 teaspoons of oil
- 3 cups of water
- Food coloring
Instructions
Add the flour, cream of tartar and salt into a large saucepan. Stir the mixture with a whisk, and then add your water. Once liquified, heat your saucepan over medium heat and keep mixing. The mixture will thicken as it warms. Once it becomes hardened, let it cool until you are able to remove it from the saucepan and set it on a flat surface. Knead your dough thoroughly, and then separate it into desired amounts equally onto parchment paper (so you do not stain your surface with food coloring). Then, add your food coloring to each amount and enjoy!
